
RADIOLOGY TRANSCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS
Title of position: Radiology transcriptionist.

Specialty: Radiology, MRI and CT, C-ARM fluoroscopic guided procedures and CT-guided procedures.
Job description:
Transcription of MRI/CT diagnostic studies done in Microsoft Word 2002/2003. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and know how to use autocorrect and macros. Must have 15+ years experience in radiology with 5 years recent experience in diagnostic MRI/CT. Must be able to type 100 wpm accurately. Must be computer literate. Must have experience and working knowledge of FTP file transfer through Internet Explorer or FTP software.~~MUST LIVE IN CALIFORNIA~~NO EXCEPTIONS TO ANY OF THE REQUIREMENTS~~E-mail resume in WORD format.~~Please do not send resume if you do not meet all the requirements including living in California. Testing for all requirements will be done, especially ability to follow directions.
Transcriptionist is provided Word document with demographics, titles, and some text already completed for them. Transcriptionists are required to oversee patient demographics for accuracy. Supervisor will fax reports and correct reports.
Testing:
You will be emailed written instructions on how to complete the
test with the test documents enclosed. The emailed instructions
as well as the transcription test all constitute the test. You will
be evaluated on all aspects of this, not just the actual test, with
emphasis on your ability to follow written directions. Any part
of the these instructions that are not followed exactly count against
your final ranking in addition to the length of time you spend transcribing
the test document. Your experience as noted on your resume is such
that it is assumed that you will be able to quickly, effortlessly
and accurately complete all of these instructions. You are timed
throughout this process from the time you sucessfully log onto the
FTP server, length of time transcribing the report, through to end
of file transfer.
Hardware/Software:
MUST have Microsoft Office 2002/2003 and Windows XP Professional
(not home), unlimited long distance, high-speed internet, FTP software,
Internet Explorer.
MUST have one of the following: Dictaphone C-phone, Dictaphone Transnet w/foot pedal, Start-Stop Transcription Software w/foot pedal, or Superstation Remote Transcriber that will access either Dictaphone Enterprise Express Dictation System.
Method of sending/receiving:
Receive – Dictaphone C-phone using your unlimited long distance,
download documents from FTP server. Send: High speed internet send
documents to FTP server using FTP software or Internet Explorer.
Must know how to proficiently send reports to FTP server.
Compensation Information:
MRI-CT: 10 cents per line based on 65 characters
per line for MRI-CT reports.
16 lines of text are deducted from the total line count
for each report for templates.
Line count is performed in Abacus line counting software.
SURGICAL PROCEDURES: These reports do not pay
by the line count of the report, because 2/3 of the report is not
typed by the transcriptionist, and therefore they pay based on the
number of minutes of dictation. 10 cents per dictation minute/line.
(If a dictation is 2.0 minutes, this equates to 20 dictation lines.
Basically, what is typed in the report is the clinical history,
everything is filled in with autocorrect or filled in advance with
the patient demographics.) Line count is generated by the
dictation system.
